Week 28 (Part 1) – Phnom Penh – S21 Genocide Museum and The Killing Fields

Mainly a picture blog post this time. This topic has been written about countless times, and by people who have far writing and expressive skill than I posses!

I arrived in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia and took a trip for the day into¬†The Killing Fields and the S21 museum. I had done a bit of research beforehand and, for the large part, knew what to expect. However, even though there were no ‘shocks’ that I experienced…….the sadness and gravity of what you are looking at just soaks into you throughout the course of the day. For me, it didn’t happen at any one identifyable point…..but all the same, at some moment you realise that you are just down.
